      Ottoman military bands are thought to be the oldest variety of military marching band in the world. Mehteran properly speaking, refers only to a single musician in the band.
      Lathed at bottom, halfly lathed at top. Old world polishing gives the unique look as to all Janissary’s. Four small sized holes. Smooth lathing gives the Mehteran its unique sound. Different sound textures at different situations. The body waves irregularly as a crash. Dark overtones occur at riding. Three sizzles near the edges add more color to that old world cymbal. An alternative efx to chinas or a secondary ride for low volume situation.

      Orkhon (Göktürk) were a nomadic confederation of Turkic peoples in medieval Inner Asia.The Göktürks under the leadership of Bumin Qaghan and his sons succeeded the Rouran as the main power in the region and took hold of the lucrative Silk Road trade. Gök means "sky" in modern Turkish.
      A china one of a kind cymbal with four regularly drilled holes. Non lathed inside. The edges are hand shaped without any lathing. The out of shape look with a different polishing gives this cymbal its unique look. Medium heavy weight yet very quick and powerful with a rapid decay. Appears with different sound textures at all settings. An all around efx for every style.
